Yesterday saw some of the Event Hire logistics team at the Tower of London, busy supplying furniture, catering equipment, china, cutlery and glassware for the upcoming Christmas party nights at this stunning venue. Pictured above is just one of the trucks that delivered, dropping off Chiavari chairs.
It’s always a pleasure to supply such historic venues, with the Tower of London being a truly recognisable landmark. Dating back to 1078, few places in the world can boast such an interesting and intriguing past, with it originally being built as a royal palace, but is much better known as a prison (up until as recently as the 1950s), and today of course as being home to the crown jewels.
The list of famous people imprisoned at the tower reads like a ‘who’s-who’ from history, and include – amongst many others – William Wallace, James I of Scotland, Anne Boleyn, Lady Jane Grey, Guy Fawkes, Sir Walter Raleigh and even the Kray twins who were the last prisoners to be held, in their case for only a few days in 1952 for failing to report for national service.

Christmas party nights this year take place in a wonderful structure called The Pavilion, which is situated in the North Moat at the Tower of London. Supplying – amongst many other things – Chiavari chairs, banqueting tables, cold rooms, china, cutlery and glassware to cater for 900-1,000 guests per night, the Event Hire UK team successfully provided this service on time and in the right quantities for the event organisers.
Christmas events at prestigious venues such as the Tower of London are always a pleasure to be involved in, but also take a large degree of planning. Working alongside the event organisers months in advance, the Event Hire UK team have a wealth of experience in this field, which is always a valuable resource to pull on.
