Time will tell. Of course, this competitiveness between retailers in the lead up to Christmas is nothing new – they have always fought for our spend through TV commercials and the latest product ranges, and then typically had sales in the January sales. It seems now, however, that the sales begin pre-Christmas….something that would never have happened a few years ago…..which just goes to show how competitive the retail environment is.
