Could football really be coming home?

Check out today's blog from Event Hire UK which looks at whether the England men's football team could finally bring football long last!
Could football really be coming home

You cannot have failed to notice the buzz and excitement around the country at the moment.  Yes, the England men’s national football team has reached a major tournament final for the first time since 1966.  Yet despite all those years of hurt, it never stopped us dreaming, to coin some lyrics from a well-known football song.

This Sunday sees the final take place at Wembley Stadium in London, with Gareth Southgate’s men taking on the might of Italy, who are unbeaten in 33 games.  It should be an absolute cracker.  And after the past 18 months we have all endured, it’s also sure to an occasion full of emotion.
It is also great to see crowds back inside the stadiums, and it certainly adds to the atmosphere.

Wembley Stadium and other football grounds in the UK are of course fantastic arenas to watch big games but, at the same time, pretty much all these arenas are much more than this.  They are hospitality machines, with revenues from hospitality activities outweighing the revenues from the ‘turnstiles’.  Even on non-matchdays, the larger clubs provide conference and banqueting facilities for companies and organisations, further generating valuable revenues.

Of course, arenas like Wembley Stadium do not just host international football matches.  As well as the FA Cup semi-finals and the final itself, it also plays host to American football matches as well as live concerts from major artists who have the ability to sell out such large venues.

Any large sporting venue will usually need hire catering equipment for the hospitality areas, whether this is crockery, cutlery or glassware, or even larger commercial catering equipment appliances such as cookers and hot cupboards, or possibly additional refrigeration capability back of house such as our refrigerated trailer hire, as an example. Whatever equipment rental for events that you need, rest assured that the team at Event Hire UK has it all covered.

All that is left to do is to wish the England team the very best of luck for Sunday.  Do it for yourselves, do it for us, do it for England!

Dare we dream?
