Everyone loves an underdog, and the story of this year’s Premiership title race doesn’t come much more exciting than this season.
When Leicester City stole an early march on their rivals early season, very few people expected them to stay there, especially in light of the fact that last season they had barely avoided relegation from the Premier League. However, fast-forward to yesterday evening and, with their nearest title rivals Tottenham failing to beat Chelsea, this meant that Leicester City FC were crowned league champions for the first time in their history.
Professional sport today rarely produces shocks on this scale, but long may it continue!
