You might just think that showcase hire is just used for trade shows and exhibitions, and in the main, you’d be correct. Jewellery and watch exhibitions, wine fairs and other major events benefit from our large range and stocks of showcases for hire each and every year.

That said, showcase hire can be beneficial for a whole host of other events, where you want to display your products to the visitors. For instance, it might be a charity dinner where you are displaying an item that ‘money can’t buy’, or perhaps you are sponsoring an event where, in turn, your brand or company has been granted some space in the venue to display your wares. Likewise, you might be a sports watch vendor, for instance, in the registration area of a marathon event. All these are good examples of where the best showcase hire can come into its own.

But in a market for showcase hire that is competitive and full of choice, how do YOU choose the best showcase hire products that are going to meet your needs?

We’ve come up with 5 things to consider when the time comes, so let’s have a look at these below.

What do you want to display?

Of course, the choice of showcase hire is very much driven by what you want to display. We’ve already mentioned jewellery and watches as a prime example of items that are small and valuable. In other words, you want visitors to be able to see the items close up, yet the items to be secure. Another example of what you might put into showcases is valuable models and figurines, for instance, or perhaps vintage bottles of wine.

Suffice to say that the items you are displaying need to be relatively small. A famous item of clothing, for instance, such as one of Marilyn Monroe’s dresses or a shirt worn by Elvis wouldn’t fit into any of the showcases that we offer here at Event Hire UK, but they do exist out there, as speciality showcases.

How many display showcases do you need?

If you want to make an impact, then hiring several display showcases is a great solution, rather than just a single one. OK, we all have space limitations to work to, and this may well define what you can and cannot hire when it comes to display showcase rental.

And remember, you don’t necessarily need to have a straight line row of showcases, you could put a couple at a 90-degree angle to create corners to your set-up, and perhaps hire a couple of potted planets to dress your area in a stylish way.

Could showcase hire replace the need for counters?

By this, we mean that many of our glass showcases for hire are counter height, and so many of our clients choose to just rent glass showcases instead of hiring desks or counters. The great thing about doing this is that visitors can look down at the products up close, whilst you can also use the counter for showcasing the technical specification of the luxury watch, for instance, on a laptop. Counter-height showcases, therefore, are multi-functional.

Do you have a power source?

Whilst glass display cabinets can be used without the internal lighting on, it’s always beneficial for display purposes to have the unit plugged into main electricity, so that the cabinet illuminates internally. Let’s use the example again of jewellery and watches – a diamond or other gemstone, for instance, is always to dazzle and sparkle more under lights than not.

Especially important at exhibitions and trade shows, therefore, is to ensure that you have access to a power supply for your glass showcases, as this is something you will need to sort directly with the exhibition organiser.

Do you want all-glass or with a cabinet?

We’ve already mentioned that we have a number of different showcases for hire online here at Event Hire UK, whether these are counter-height, tallboys or tall centre showcases, all of which offer something different for you to choose from. There are some elements that are common throughout – they can all internally illuminate, and they are all lockable.

However, some showcase hire items are all glass, and others have a lockable cabinet as part of the design. The choice is yours, really, when it comes to which showcase rental to choose. For additional secure storage of your merchandise, promotional giveaways or other marketing materials, for instance, the cabinet might be a no-brainer. Or, if you feel you don’t need this extra storage capacity, then you might as well maximise the amount of space that you can use for product display – only you know what is going to work best for you!

What we would say is that the front of the cabinet also offers you an opportunity to put your company logo or branding on there, to enhance your brand visibility. That said, if this is something you are planning to do, then you need to remember to use a low tack vinyl or foamex board, as anything else will potentially damage the showcase when removed, and you would be liable to pay the item replacement fee. Please also be aware that you need to remove the branding before you send the showcase back to us, otherwise a branding removal fee would be applied.

Suffice to say that when it comes to showcase hire for events, we pretty much have every base covered. Browse our site for showcase hire and place your secure order 24/7 with the experts online here at Event Hire UK – we’re here to help you every step of the way!
