We always love it when our clients let us know how they’ve used our range of catering equipment, and we thought this idea was so great, we just had to share it!
Commemorating the 50 year anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, Kaye Winwood Projects hired our Mattone black bowls for a reason for their dining event – this being that they wanted one of their particular courses – their “Solar System Soup” – to be in-keeping with the space theme of the event, and how creative is this!

The sun in the centre was a carrot purée surrounded by Venus (roasted courgette with coriander seed), Earth (pickled cucumber), Saturn (roasted parsnip with picked shallot ring), and Pluto (smoked aubergine) amongst others. An iridescent porcini dashi was poured over the ‘planets’ in front of the diners to complete the star speckled sky!
What a great idea, and we’re delighted we could be a small part of such a great event! Thanks to Kaye and the team for sending in the photo!
