Collect or deliver?

For many people, hiring tables and chairs, professional catering equipment hire, hire wine glasses and so on makes a lot of sense - after all, to buy the equipment in the first place would require a large investment, and then you have to store and maintain it.  And you don't have to be a professional event organiser to take advantage of excellent hire products and prices with Event Hire UK as per one of our previous blog posts

However, when it comes to the decision as to whether to have your event equipment delivered or collect it yourself in person, it becomes a little bit more tricky.

Why?  Well, let's break it down.

Wherever you are in the country, Event Hire UK is able to hire to you.  And deliver to you.  We have three depots in the UK servicing London, the Midlands and the North, so depots in West London, Walsall (Birmingham) and Bradford.  All the main cities in England can be serviced from these locations.  It stands to reason that the further you are located away from these dpots, the larger the transport fee is likely to be.  However, our rates for delivery and collection are reasonable and in line with most other hire companies in the UK.

So, you can take advantage of this service from us or you might decide to collect in person to 'save the transport fee'.

However, are you really saving?

Once you have factored in the time it is going to take you to travel to the depot, and the fuel cost in doing so, and the fact that you might not be able to fit everything into your car (so you might have to hire a van), especially if you are hiring tables and chairs, for example....the list goes on.  And the above scenairo is only for collection....you still need to return your event hire equipment after your event.

So, have a think carefully about what is involved and what you will need to transport.  Bear in mind that successful events take careful planning...and careful planning needs time....something that is a rare commodity in the lead up to a big event.  Do you really want to stuck on a motorway in the car travelling to collect your equipment hire products, or perhaps it might be a better idea to have Event Hire UK's friendly and professional delivery team get your products to you reliably, efficiently and accurately.
