Sat 2nd March 2024 saw the annual BRIT Awards take place at London’s O2 Arena, sponsored by MasterCard. It’s always a pleasure to be involved in high profile, prestigious events such as this.
The biggest night in the UK music industry is always an event full of glitz and glamour and, as always, there is a huge amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure these events live up to expectations – and this year’s event certainly did that! The pressure is always on, to ensure that the requirements of the client are met in a timely and efficient manner.
For The BRIT Awards, Event Hire UK supplied over 2,000 Chiavari chairs, 250 round tables and over 2,000 covers of chinaware, cutlery and glassware to both the O2 and Magazine London, where the pre-show and after-show parties took place for the event.
Major events such as The Brit Awards involve huge feats of planning and logistics, and this year’s event required large numbers of our transport fleet and crew, operating to tight deadlines, not only pre-event and post-event, but also during the event itself.
Indeed, our client has already written a quick testimonial note – “Ryan from Event Hire cleared the room in record time at Magazine! We love him and his team!”
At the same time, this year’s event had a big focus on sustainability via a number of green initiatives, with data on this being collated by Julie’s Bicycle – a not-for-profit organisation that has been applying its environmental expertise to calculate the carbon output of festivals and events for nearly a decade. The O2 itself uses compostable food packaging and also uses reusable cups from our sister company, Event Cup Solutions, contributing to minimising the impact of events that take place at this venue.
