Which type of chair hire will look best at my event?

Today's blog article looks at the different types of chair hire available for different types of events, and what is going to work best for you and your event.

When it comes to chair hire for events, there is a world of choice out there. Firstly, though, it’s really important to remember that there is this range of choice for a reason, with that reason being that it’s definitely NOT the case that one type of chair fits every event.

Imagine using a banqueting or wedding chair for a corporate conference or, likewise, an outdoor folding chair for an indoor wedding reception. They simply don’t go.

And this is exactly what makes this question a rather tricky one to answer, without going into lots of detail (but we’re happy to do so below!). In other words, the short answer is ‘it depends on what type of event it is’.

Let’s have a look at some different events and, therefore, the different chairs, below.

Indoor Events

Classic wedding chairs are the Chiavari chairs, which you may well already be familiar with. These chairs are a staple of any chair hire company’s range, and have been around for years. The limewash version is, by far, the most popular chair for weddings, and so most companies will have this in big quantities.

Fewer, however, will offer different colours of the Chiavari chair, but this is certainly something to look for, especially if you want to dress your wedding venue to a certain theme or colour. Other wooden banqueting chairs have come along over the years, such as the Napoleon chair – also known as a Cheltenham chair – as well as cross back wedding chairs recently, all of which bring something slightly different to the party. All these aforementioned chairs have a couple of things in common.

Firstly, they all have ‘open’ backs and so you can accessorise them with flower, ribbons, organza chair bows and other decorations if you so wish. And secondly, you are able to choose your seat pad colour to go on the chair as these are interchangeable – so, not only are you choosing the colour of your chair frame, but you are also choosing your seat pad colour, providing a fantastic degree of versatility and choice.

Conferences

Conferences are all about style, and reflecting the brand or ethos of a company. There’s no room for shoddiness here, and the quality and style of the chairs are no exception. ISO chairs are, by far, the preferred choice of most corporate conference planners, with their polished metal frames and cushioned seats and backs, making them perfect for prolonged periods of seating.
