Having opened in 1995, the Manchester Arena quickly developed into one of the world's busiest indoor arenas.  Its capacity of 21,000 means that it has the higest capacity in the UK and the 6th highest seating capacity for an indoor venue in Europe.

It has hosted prestigious events such as the 2002 Commonwealth Games, boxing, swimming and ice hockey events, and also hosted major artists from the entertainment world including Madonna, Cher, Simply Red and Janet Hackson to name but a few.
